Hastings Gunners 4 Pevensey & Westham 1
A well organised Hastings Gunners were three ahead by
half time and proved strong competition. Pevensey's
Jack Hutchings was outstanding in mid-field and constantly
involved in the action. Once again 'keeper Jack Deadman
excelled with some spectacular saves and reacted well
to clear a dangerous free kick close to the area. Pevensey
came back with some excellent attacking football. Jordan
Dickinson played through from defence to set-up endless
chances and Rafal Madge made several good runs. Howard
Sturgeon took advantage when the Hastings 'keeper came
out and curled one past to score for Pevensey but despite
several further opportunities, Pevensey failed to score.
A late goal for Hastings sealed the result. MOM: Jack
Hutchings (outstanding performance in mid-field).
U13s
Hastings Gunners Red 1 Pevensey & Westham 3
Pevensey set out their stall early on when Jack Lovick
scored an excellent free kick which left the Gunner's
keeper with no chance. The rest of the first half saw
Pevensey not only defend well, but put pressure on the
home team and they were unlucky not to increase their
lead further. The second half started with Gunners desperately
searching for the equaliser, but with stout defending,
Pevensey soaked up the pressure. Equally
determined to secure a two goal cushion, Pevensey rallied
and their hard work was rewarded when a corner was turned
in by Joe Lavender. Pevensey's clean sheet was stolen,
however, when a through ball was not dealt with and
Gunners capitalised. With the referee reluctant to blow
for full-time as Gunners looked for a second equaliser,
Pevensey put the game beyond them with a determined
run and a cool finish by Macaulay Gray. This completed
a great team performance by each and every player. MOM:
Macaulay Gray (never stopped running!).

Eastbourne Borough 1 Pevensey & Westham 1
Pevensey & Westham locked horns with Eastbourne
Borough for the third time this season. In this top
of the table clash, with honours even so far, it was
clear this was going to be a tough match and it certainly
didn't disappoint. Borough pushed on in the first half
but some superb defending from Adam Barr and Adam Baldwin
held Pevensey together but midway through the half,
Borough went 1-0 up. In the second half Pevensey stepped
up their game with great leadership from Billy Newson
and excellent midfield work from Jack Griffin and Joe
Williams pushed Pevensey on. Josh Kent let loose a great
shot from the edge of the box to make it 1-1 final score.
A great performance from both teams and a fair result
in the end.
